The Lower Studio

Well it just needs trim around the doors and windows (which will come later on) and the lower studio is ready to be put back together. There is a bit of flooring work required, locations were the closet and partition walls were, we have some ideas but will wait until it's done first. The walls got primed, painted and the ceiling turned out rather well, just saying. The wall brackets are up, the top and bottom shelves are in place, ReBecca will decide where the others go. We even put in a small heater to keep the chill out in the winter, it is a wall mounted convection style heater, and with the walls now insulated it won't take much to keep it warm. Here are a few pictures of how the past week and a half went. It is hard to see the colour in the walls but it's there, and it's called "Morning Glow".

Primed.

Ceiling primed, it does look better than this pictures shows.

Painted

Painted as well.

A little better look at the colour.

Last part of the drywall put up.

A simple wall to put drywall up, I liked this one.

Once again more mud.

A quick mud job on this one.

Primed.

Painted.

The colour is light.

The heater is in.

Plenty of storage space.

A Fresh Look

It's been two years since I painted the place, most of it blue, a few rooms were yellow(ish) and after moving in, moving boxes from room to room, a temp kitchen to a finished one the walls were looking a little tired so I was informed it was time to paint. After a while of looking at a few colours ReBecca came up with this one a cream type colour and after priming the living room, kitchen, dining room and both upper and lower hallways, I painted. And I have to agree it looks good, warm, bright and inviting, an excellent colour. Hopefully I wont' have to do this again for at least 5 years. Here is the after look, you'll have to go back in the blog to about Jan 2013 to see what they were.

Colour In The Living Room

The living room go a bit of attention today, I put on two coats of a soft cream, and it looks great. Just a little bit of colour, this soft cream colour will help keep the room bright. I also put on a touch up coat of paint in my office, I'll do the other three rooms shortly.

Looking at the south east corner, the sun will come
that south window and the room will be bright.
Looking back at the north west corner, nice blue in the hallway.

Paint - Take Two

A second day of painting done, and as expected it's looking better. It may need one more coat and then I can touch up the bedrooms before I get started on the door frames, window/door trim and baseboards. You really can't see the difference but here are a couple of pictures of today's progress.

Finally Back At It

Yes we are back at it, today we painted, the weather has cooperated and warmed up some so the house is warm enough to paint. We put on the first coat in the kitchen, dining room, and both hallways. This colour flows throughout the these rooms which makes them feel bright and inviting. We didn't what different colours is each room, it might have made them look smaller and separate. The living room will be different as this room is separated from the rest of the down stairs, it will get painted if a few days.

As you wold come in the front door.

Now for a little paint.

ReBecca decidced on bright, cheerfull colors. Her office, the master bedroom, the dressing room and the spare bedroom were a pale yellow and the addition and my office a light blue. After a couple of coats of paint it started to look good.
