The Other Side

Yesterday I put on the trim for the mudroom side of the door. It required a little adjusting prior to installation, I doubt anyone will notice, it looks just the same.

Doors Framed And Trimmed Out

The front door has some new frame work and trim, along with the doorway into the mudroom (AKA the addition first floor). I still have some trim to put up on the mudroom side but that won't take long and I'll be starting the base boards. It's amazing how they look now, wait until the base boards go up.

A new look, now to paint the door.

A Couple More Doors

I have a couple of doors to trim out and one to frame in and I'll be ready to get at the baseboards. They are now done, primed and painted, next step installation.

They're Done

The door frames and trim are up and I'll call it completed, at least for now. I couldn't find the old paint can with the name of the paint we have on the walls in three of rooms upstairs, so I had to cut a piece out of the walk through wall, low to the floor, and take it to the hardware store to find out what colour it was. I had the others and it took only a few hours to cut in the sides of the trim to clean up the look. I also got to finish off three of the upstairs windows as well.  Over the next little while I'll probably notice a few things I could do, a touch up here, a bit of fill there and a splash of paint to hide it all. If I find anything I'll do it when I do the base boards. That will be my next little project, for now I think a couple of rest day's are in order. Here they are.

Starting To Look Good - Again

After 3½ hours of sanding and cleaning up the dust, and 2¾ of painting, the doors are starting to look good again. There is still lots to do, once the paint dries I'll see were I need to touch them up, put on some silicone around the edges to clean that line up and see what's left. A long day but a good one, here is what they look like now, much better than yesterday's post.

Making A Mess Of Things

That pretty well sums up what the doors look like now. After applying some, OK a bit more than some, carpenters wood fill, to clean up the nail holes and some imperfections, they look a bit rough. After tomorrow, when I sand them down and apply a coat of paint to see how they'll look and if I need to touch up anything, they should look a bit better. Here is what they look like after today's work was done, I don't think you need to see every door or both sides, this give you an idea of what they all look like.

The Door Trim - Round Two

Today was another good day, and I got the second part of the door trim up. It is amazing what a little piece of wood will do to improve the look of this trim. There is more work to do, hiding the nail holes and some flaws, that will be next weeks work load. Here is what come of today's efforts.

Working The Doors

Today it was all about getting the 4 inch trim pieces up and it went well. That makes 20 doors (one side) with the first part of the trim up, and even though there is more to do and they need to be filled, sanded and painted again, they look great. Here are a few pictures of today's work.
